Accessible health care is one of the most urgent needs facing today’s homeless population. The Stewpot has key partnerships with agencies covering dental, medical, and mental health needs, and provides services during business hours at our Young Street location.

Medical Clinic

Parkland Health & Hospital System Homeless Outreach Medical Services (HOMES) Program established The Karen and Elgin Ware Stewpot Medical Clinic in 2012 in recognition of the couple’s medical outreach in downtown Dallas. This is a barrier-free, comprehensive clinic for the homeless population and located within The Stewpot.

Dental Clinic

The dental clinic is run by the Parkland HOMES Program and serves those who are chronically homeless.

Mental Health

Through a partnership with Metrocare Services, The Stewpot is able to offer mental health services to clients at our Young Street location. Metrocare Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that cares for individuals and families struggling with mental illness, developmental disability, or severe emotional problems in clinics across Dallas, programs in the community, and even in clients' homes.
